The Construction Industry has always had to address cutting materials with a Hand-held Cut-Off machine (Disc Cutter). Holding the material securely and safely when using the machine, then adding the suppression of silica dust whilst cutting, are all essential but often challenging and exposes you to unavoidable risk. In response to these important issues, Guardian Tools, have worked closely with a range of trades, Contractors, and organisations within the industry and as a result have launched their range of Cut-Off Machine accessories.

The traditional practice to secure and stabilise smaller materials whilst cutting, is to stand on it. However, this brings your foot closer to the cutting blade and creates significant risk of a serious accident. For other materials, when water has been included in the process for suppressing silica dust, the risk is also further increased because you are cutting whilst trying to follow a quickly disappearing line. The Guardian Jigs and Guides do not change the way you work but simply replace you standing on materials and also give you an edge to follow when cutting.

On the Jigs, the material being cut is aligned on the base with a ‘stop’ and held in place by pushing a clamp down on the top of the tile, this then gives you an edge to follow and makes the cutting safer, more accurate and easily repeatable.

The Cutting Guides are attached to the material being cut and held in place with a clamping foot or an expanding lock. This again gives you an edge to follow, making the use of water for dust control simple and convenient.

For a number of years, we have worked across different sectors of construction together with with Stihl and their cut-off machines. Through this, we have been able to gain an in-depth understanding of the ways in which cut-off machines can be supported to improve the key roles they have on a construction site. For several trades, the cut-off machine is a valuable tool. We can help improve its ease of use, and reduce your overall trigger time. These are benefits to you and to the contractor you are working for.
